Taiyou no Mokushiroku 01

also known as A Spirit of the Sun

Interesting at first, but it became less and less so as this special (?) progressed.
Japan goes under numerous natural disasters such as Tsunami’s, flooding, and the eruption of Mt. Fuji. The earthquakes creates fissures that separate Japn right on Tokyo. The resultant separation isn’t only geographically, it’s also within society which forms discrimination and hostility.
Genshirou is a young boy that is caught in the middle of these literal and metaphorical disasters. A poor pup is caught under a rock at the initial signs of all the catastrophic disasters, Genshirou’s kind heart saves him, but he has no area to escape. When things calm down, he meets a kind driver. During their activity of providing resources to those in need, they become immediate friends. However, Genshirou falls into the deep waters of the sea, and is no where to be found.
Looking Forward to 2007

These are the series I look foward to for 2007!

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS
The first season (I’ll call them seasons) was good, and Nanoha A’s was even better! Their animated battle sequences are very impressive and engaging. Now it’s taking place later on when they’re teens. This will probably get all the fanboys excited >_>. I couldn’t really care less if they have evident busts or not, I just love the story and animation.
That, and I think Hayate-chan is a loveable character.

Hana Yori Dango 2
*squirms in delight* more Hana Yori Dango, wahoo! It’ll cover the area where neither the anime OR manga have. Though it may not have any tingly desires for love within the characters, I believe it will still give me those good romance chills. I wonder what the theme song for this sequel is, because I really liked Planetarium.
I love the facial expression Inoue Mao (Makino Tsukushi) makes, very entertaining and cute. Its uniqueness makes her very down to earth and realistic.

Boku wa Imouto wo Koi wo Suru
The manga is “okay”, and the one-shot anime OVA turned out surprisingly good, but I’m watching this because it’s Matsumoto Jun! . I can’t really picture him becoming Yori’s character though, because thus far I’ve only seen him play goofy-type characters. Still, this doesn’t mean I’m not looking forward to the sheer smutty drama.
I hope it’s not smutty. That’s the last thing I want for a live-action. I imagine it being poorly done and cheesy. :/
Kekkaishi 01-02

It seems typically shounen to me (especially since the main protagonist sounds like Takeuchi Junko). But at the same time, it seems promising. There is a good blend of a good story, and characters with depth. We have Yoshimori who is, at first, unmotivated to train in capturing Ayakashi. Since there are no immediate rewards, he doesn’t try his hardest. He frequently competes with his rivaled neighbour, Tokine - an older girl that takes action seriously.
A major mistake on Yoshimori’s part puts Tokine in severe danger.
Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn! 01

I found this anime extremely funny. It’s not even the story, but the eccentric perks that come along with it. There’s little implied humour, use of puns, and just plain sillyness. Reborn (the little dude) can be a bit annoying to me, but this show makes me laugh - out loud - and that’s what I like :3
Tsunayoshi (nicknamed: Tsuna) is not the greatest academically, he’s pretty much average. And that is why his mother arranges a tutor for Tsuna. His tutor turns out to be a joke, a little runt that barely reaches his knees. The little runt’s name is Reborn and he’s actually a hitman! (wtf?).
On his way to school, Tsuna encounters Kyoko, his laaav (<-- love), but she pays no attention to him, only to Reborn who just suddenly appeared. Just then, Reborn pulls another rash move and fires a bullet at Tsuna! Specifically, the "dying will" bullet. With any thoughts of regrets, it will make you use your optimal power and energy to perform what you wanted to do before your "death".
Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?
Well, this dying will only acts temporarily. The reason Reborn is doing this, is to train Tsuna for he is the 10th generation Mafia boss.

An anime about music… WITH GOOD MUSIC! About time… I haven’t had very good experience with series such as Mermaid Melody, Fancy Lala, and Magical Angel Creamy Mami. Full Moon wo Sagashite has notably good songs (ie. Eternal Snow), but the singer… ~_~.
Anyway, this focuses more on classical music, which is one of my favoured genres of music. It’s a shoujo genre, so I plan to follow it.
Kahoko attends a school that specializes in music, and unbelieving to her eyes, a fairy approaches her. She practically ignores it and heads to class. Though this school is recognized for their music, there are two groups of students: “regular”, and “music” students. They’re about to enter concours (a music competition), and a list of the participants are announced. While Kahoko is merely a regular student, her name happens to be called - but why? She soon finds out that it is the Fairy’s doing. Kahoko is then thrusted to the high-class world of music.
Lovedol ~Lovely Idol~ 01

An example of an anime about music, with terrible songs (and “dancing”). I’ll say this now, I don’t think I’ll ever watch this again.
So they introduce this anime with 10 minutes, yes, TEN whole minutes of craptacular singing and performance. The songs themselves are not something to note, they’re really boring. Within those ten minutes, they show different characters every possible shot. This results in A LOT of characters, it’s overwhelming and not entertaining.
That’s one thing, but don’t get excited just yet, wait until you hear the story… What’s-his-face (don’t know his name) has formed a number of idol groups and is currently working on a new one, and they’re about to go on their debut. However, his manager (?) postpones their performance claiming “they’re not ready yet”. As what’s-his-face thinks of the possible reasons why they’re not ready yet, his sister gives a suggestion, “maybe they’re not enough members!”
Right.
But it doesn’t end there. When what’s-his-face wanders home, he spots a girl singing a beautiful song. He follows her and he mentions that he’s from a production agency, and that she should take this chance to sing her songs on the big stage. The purple-haired girl snaps back and says, “I hate to sing”. Okay then… why are you singing?
“I sing for… revenge”
What kind of poor excuse for a cliffhanger is THIS?
Sasami: Magical Girl Club 01

A very cute anime that has awesome animated effects! The character design (specifically Sasami) reminds me of the character designs from Princess Tutu because of the eyelashes. Some interesting factors thus far such as Shinohara’s ability - ’tis very cute! Love the OP song, very “witch-like”, fits the theme nicely.
A new homeroom teacher will be working in the school Sasami attends, and she doesn’t seem very friendly. Ms. Washuu will also be supervising the cooking club. As some sort of initiation, students must capture a furry hare-like thing. So as Sasami and Shinohara chase it to another room, they are sucked into an alternate dimension, that’s where the real test is.
In actuality, Ms. Washuu actually wishes to form a club that focuses on having power over your magical ability, and the test was to find the limited number of people that still possess these skills. This comes to a surprise, for a long time, magic users have been living in the human world, but have been refraining from using their magic so they can fit in.
